Miltefosine-based regimen as salvage therapy in Lomentospora prolificans bone and joint infection
Abstract
1. Introduction
We report the second case of miltefosine, terbinafine, and voriconazole-based regimen as salvage therapy in a Lomentospora prolificans bone and joint infection. A favorable outcome was observed when combined with aggressive surgery. A poor prior evolution was observed following three surgical procedures of debridement combined with terbinafine and voriconazole. This report of a safe and successful use of miltefosine highlights the need for an interdisciplinary expertise for appropriate surgical and medical treatment.
