Is bacterial prostatitis a urinary tract infection?

Abstract : Diagnosis of urinary tract infection (UTI) includes anatomical distinctions because the severity of infection and treatment decisions depend on the infected organ; however, bacterial prostatitis is usually absent from discussions regarding UTI.
