Nucleoside analogues as inhibitors of thymidylate kinases: possible therapeutic applications.

Abstract

Membrane‐permeable nonphosphorylated thymidine analogues (see structure) are active as competitive inhibitors of M. tuberculosis thymidylate kinase (TMPK) as well as of other bacterial TMPKs. A modeling and docking study was used to rationalize the experimental data.
